Trinity Leeds Christmas Kissing Tree

Trinity Leeds
Reaching up towards the great glass ceiling, the Christmas Kissing Tree stands loud and proud in the middle of the Trinity Leeds shopping centre. Europe’s largest Kissing Tree will light up red when a Christmas kiss happens at its base! Its kiss counter will see just how amorous Leeds is.

This year, Trinity Leeds’ Christmas decorations centre around a humongous, 66-foot high Christmas tree visible from all around the central atrium. Located between ROX and Marks and Spencer, the tree begins above ground floor level and towers right up towards the glass roof above.

Not only is the tree’s imposing height both beautiful and impressive, but it is an interactive Christmas decoration-come-art piece, as the elegant and subtle tree blushes turns completely red when a couple kiss beneath it, blushing from its lowest branches right to its tip!

Whether a kiss with your partner or a peck on the cheek for a mate or loved one, everyone can get into the festive spirit of fun, love and laughter with a kiss beneath the Christmas Kissing Tree.

The tree will record all of the kisses which happen beneath it through the season, so come and have a kiss beneath Europe’s largest Christmas Kissing Tree!

The tree contains 25,000 lights which all illuminate when people kiss beneath it – as will the Trinity Leeds ceiling!
#2
The tree lights up when a couple kiss, as their lips complete the circuit and illuminate the whole height of the tree.
#3
MK Illumination took ten weeks to create the tree and installed it in a four- day build.
#4
The tree is powered by a mains unit and a mere 240v plug - the LED lights themselves do not require a massive amount of electricity (besides the romantic kind).
#5
The tree was launched with a kiss...and then a proposal! Andy Wormald, 29, and partner Lauren Berg, 25, from Pudsey, Yorkshire, won a competition over
more than 1,200 entrants to be the first couple to kiss underneath the tree, and Andy used the opportunity to propose in front of 20,000 people! Luckily, Lauren said yes!
