Harvey Nichols’ window displays are always a showstopper, sited as they are on central Briggate. This year, as ever, the fashion department store has created something just as distinctive with BRITALIA.

Inspired by the relationship between England and Italy, the “BRITALIA” window display pays homage to a famous scene in a Luigi Pirandello play. Inspired by Italy’s famous Renaissance architecture, the all-white windows fuse the drama of Italian operatic and theatre sets with winter opulence, showcasing the majesty and wonder of Christmas.

Innovative lighting techniques (including and utilising a mixture of UV, chandeliers, candelabras and cumulus clouds) and reams and reams of paper (1300kg over all!) provide a impressive backdrop for mannequins dressed in the finest English and Italian fashion designers. Keep an eye out for the transformation that happens at nightfall – channelling the true playfulness of the Harvey Nichols brand!
